How long does it take to install a mezzanine?

As our mezzanine components are all prefabricated prior to delivery this makes installation fast, easy and reduces downtime onsite. With a clear area, our install team can install between 50-100m² of mezzanine floor area per day. Depending on the size and scope of the job; we can turn around a storage mezzanine using our Hi-Span standard in-stock components in as little as 2 weeks from order to completion.

How does the cost of a mezzanine floor compare to purchasing additional warehouse space?

Generally speaking mezzanine floors can be installed at a fraction of the cost compared to purchasing additional space additional warehouse space. For instance, in Melbourne industrial areas expect to pay an average price of around $1600 per m² of floor area compared to approximately $250 per m² for a mezzanine floor. ( based on a 150m² Hi –Span Mezzanine using standard sizes)

By utilising previously unused “ airspace” we can also save you tens of thousands of dollars in relocation fees alone whilst avoiding the hassle of moving.

Is a site inspection required?

We can certainly put together a proposal based on any photos and sketches. We will always do a site inspection prior to fabrication to get accurate dimensions and discuss in more detail post locations, escape routes and review any site-specific limitations.

Are there standard mezzanine sizes?

Yes, we manufacture and stock a range of standard beam spans, column heights and stairs. These are prefabricated and finished in an attractive charcoal painted finish. This ensures faster turnaround as products are in stock and a more economical mezzanine solution compared to a full customised mezzanine. We can design a mezzanine based on our standard sizes to suit your exact requirements.

Do you come to us to measure up onsite?

Yes, we have a team of knowledgeable staff with years of experience in designing and building mezzanine floors who can visit you onsite to do a full site evaluation and get a grasp of your requirements. We will then come back to you with a solution and proposal to best suit your needs.

What Permits do I need for a mezzanine floor?

Mezzanines floors range from small freestanding removable storage structures which only require engineering certification to large scale mezzanine office areas which require planning and building permits. We can guide you on what is required and as we are registered commercial builders we can arrange any required permits for you as part of our turn-key solution.

How much does a storage mezzanine floor cost?

As a guide, our storage mezzanines start from around $200 – $250 Per m² supplied and installed, this is loosely based on a 150m² mezzanine using our modular Hi-span mezzanine system. There are a lot of variables and options such as stair finishes, handrails, gates, flooring materials and load ratings.

How much weight can a mezzanine floor take?

Great question – our mezzanine floors start from 3Kpa Loading (300kg capacity per m² of floor area) for general office space and lightweight storage.

And 5Kpa (500kg capacity per m² of floor area for medium to heavy Storage floors and we can also customise a mezzanine to take up to 1000Kg per m² for very heavy-duty applications.

What can mezzanine floors be used for?

Typically, mezzanine floors are used to provide raised storage space, office space, production areas, workrooms, canteens etc but can be used for anything that requires additional floor space.

What is a standard mezzanine floor height?

Our standard finished floor heights (using our Hi-Span system) are 2580, 3000 and 3400mm. Our mezzanines can be manufactured to any floor height to best suit your requirements. Although, keep in mind that any floor height over 3400mm will require an additional landing in staircase to comply with Australian building codes and regulations.
